Can anyplace make one feel more frenetic than Costco? Seriously. The entire place is a parking lot for shopping carts and no matter how wide the isle, there's never enough room to spare yourself the "crash cart derby". Yea, don't know what possessed us to shop there this weekend but there we were, held captive by the gigantic tentacles that are the check out stands.

It was a mash up weekend with awesome mixes of artists I wouldn't dream possible to mash. It's pulsating techno tunes that resonate in your chest and keep your mind thumping into to the night as you try to relax and drift to sleep.

I thought about Kiss after hearing that guitarist Paul Stanley had to miss a performance at the Soboba Casino in Riverside, CA because his heart rate rose to 190 and wouldn't decrease. Emergency personnel had to stop his heart and then restart it again. Talk about a scary experience! Of the Kiss band members Paul and Gene Simmons are the standing regulars.

This was the Summer Jubiliee's third weekend but my first to attend and see as it was a sixties/seventies jam it's no surprise we made it! If there's one man that's looking super fine and fit it is Steppenwolf's John Kay. The man easily puts some 30 year olds I know to shame and is solid muscle through and through.

How perfect is it that we went to the Orange County Fair where it was easily 15 degrees cooler, we found fantastic parking, had a great time exploring exhibits we hadn't bother with before and saw the fireworks finale from Disneyland as we cruised the freeway? Yea, we cruised the freeway, as did everyone else, upon seeing the beautiful fireworks of Happy Faces, Mickey ears, large presents of blue, red and pink with white bows, etc. I think we drove the freeway at 40 MPH for a 1-1/2 mile stretch!

Oh dear, why did I have to find this Hello Kitty Baby Grand Piano? Of course, I like Hello Kitty a lot and could naturally find some way of squeezing this in to my home. I don't believe Boo would be very happy or supportive about it but, what the heck, I'll only live once! I had a long fabulous holiday weekend and I was in no hurry to return to work. Sometimes it seems that the more time off, the harder it is to hit the grindstone.

Our best friend whom we've known for over 18 years, just had her "baby" graduate from high school. It's always wonderful to see how great a child's turned out and how good a person they are. Jessica laughs at all of us when we get together because she says we're "silly and never change". Let us hear a tune and we'll start singing, maybe dancing, and she's like "Omigod, let me get out of here!" Good times this weekend, wonderful celebration and loads of fun!

While the weekend was fun and great, the thing that most stands out right now is the horrible finale of The Sopranos. Show creator David Chase committed a grave injustice against the show's faithful fans and we deserved a lot better. The idiot should be forced to redo it. It isn't like The Sopranos are the Seinfeld's and can get away with a finale about absolutely nothing. It totally sucked and was such a huge disappointment I just as well should have skipped the final six episodes. At least the show would have ended with me having positive feelings about it instead of complete disappointment and anger. How the cast could perform in the insipid finale is beyond me. It was such an insult to the fans. As for speculation that an alternate version will make its way to the box DVD set, it doesn't matter because I've stopped caring and will not support David Chase by paying money for something I'm already paying for...it's called cable.

It's time to get back into gear and I don't know which is harder: getting into vacation mode or into work mode. It can take me up to two weeks to feel like I'm on vacation, but this year was different. Thanks to Boo I fell right into lounge mode and merrily remained. I'm even struggling to get into "blog mode" because, even though I constantly have ideas about what to share/write, committing it to print is different from mulling it in my head.

Hello! I've been enjoying vacation and unplugging from the computer. Boo and I have been out and about having a grand time. I know I've missed some good Music Memoirs memes, but since I can't effectively moblog my participation that's life. Obviously, Boo's had the reins on the music and it's been super great to see the happiness and relaxation that's ensued. This may be my sole entry for the week so I hope everyone's well, happy and having a great time. The coming weekend marks the beginning of my favorite season and I am excited. I have purchases to talk about, observations on life and weird happenings, for now this is it.

This was a road trip weekend as this week's list reflects...I did not have control of the radio! The weather in Vegas was chilly, you'd think it was autumn. Back home I understand we sizzled and if it was like today, we also had warm winds that send chills down the spine of fire personnel. Los Angeles is two months early in declaring fire season and my chimes were chiming their hearts out this afternoon!

It's a mash up weekend of grooves, lyrics and genres. Thank goodness for the variety of DJ's mixing and mashing the tunes for us. I guess it is time to Surrender the booty!

What a fantastic weekend it was. The weather was bloody glorious and everything executed without a hitch, which is always cause for happiness and pats on the back! Of course, finding my missing cell phone was a nice cap to a flawless time. Egads, no cell - how will I moblog??

This weekend turned out to the Sixties Valentine's Mix. Here's a glimpse of some of our favorites. I think the entire iTunes playlist ended up being 6 hours! The sixties produced a lot of love/relationship songs with no foul language or explicit references to sex and doing it.

Another record store bites the dust in So. Cal. and all we have left is Amoeba (not many around), Circuit City and Best Buy (the latter two also sell major appliances and computers). It's sad to see another institution go away and see my options for buying music and concert tickets dwindle. I am totally bummed about this, which explains the self induced techno trance.
