Had a fabulous time at my first live Bull Riding competition. I've never seen so many cowboys at one time and the bulls well, they're even bigger than what you think they look like on T.V. It's amazing how humongous and fast they are. One bull was butting his head backwards attempting to stab the rider with his horns. Pretty scary stuff and I have no desire to even try a mechanical bull!

They gave away schwag like free t-shirts, as well as cowboy hats and tickets to the finals in Vegas in October. What I thought was really neat is how they included spectators from all levels of the arena by inserting the schwag in an air gun that shot the stuff clear to the nose bleed levels. Now I would have loved to try firing that! LOL

This solo singer/guitarist sang all ten songs in my list which I found quite interesting, as well as entertaining. The audience loved his selections and the only quiet time was when he walked to his notebook computer and queued the next selection. It made me wonder why he didn't have everything pre-arranged since it's already digitized anyway. What he lacked in enthusiasm he more than made up for with his song list.

It never fails that kids are mesmerized by Guitar Hero and love watching others play it. I can't remember what song was playing because the store was so loud and busy. I just wanted to leave! This weekend capped my birthday celebration and I received some great gifts and had a lot laughter and conversation. We still miss our Little Girl and wish the outcome were different but...

My sister recently bought a new car that has a month of complimentary XM Satellite radio. While listening to it and observing the offering it dawned on me that as much as I like music, I'm unwilling to pay $14.95 month for satellite radio. They don't offer anything that I don't already own and if I don't own it, I likely do not want to listen to it! While sitting outdoors with Buddah I noticed the satellite dish eyesore that graces the condos across the street. I can readily see the value in paying for my cable service but satellite radio - no go.

During the week I usually come home red eyed and too beat to sit in front of the computer. So this weekend I spent some quality time listening to lots of indie music as I blogged, organized computer files, prepared my Muvo for podcast listening at work and surfed. The weather's turning cold and funky again - damned groundhog! Here's to Spring arriving sooner than later, good health for the kitties and a week full of pulsating music.
