The State of Music

Listening to GNR's rendition of Knockin' on Heavens Door, it kicks serious ass and is a vast improvement over Clapton's. OF course, Welcome to the Jungle is a rock anthem that belongs in the hall of fame. Also listened to Dave Matthews and a little Cream (anyone remember them?). I haven't seen the ad yet, thank God. The RIAA has created a mascot to help fight music piracy and "increase awareness of copyright holder's rights". I don't think it's going to do much in the way of touching today's youth. If anything, they're going to end up pissing off more people.

I can tell you that the reason I'm buying more music is because the prices have come down and CDs have more than sixty minutes of music. Back in the day when ignorance was bliss for the RIAA, I'd pay $15 for a scant 10 song thirty minute CD. Now, there's no way in hell! First, it better cost no more than $9.99 and it damn better hit the sixty minute mark. RIAA, you got fat and greedy for a solid 15 years, the rides over. Stop bitching and come up with more features to enchance and encourage CD sales - it's in the packaging, baby!
