I had to take an unexpected day away from my job today, which gave me the idea for this week's word:
Work
I pass this homeless camp daily and each and every day the man who calls this home, has the American flag proudly displayed. I wonder if he's a homeless Veteran who courageously served his country and, if so, how he did he end up here? Then I wondered, "how hard would I have to consciously work to maintain patriotism if this was my reality?

If this man IS a homeless veteran it makes a sad statement about how little his country has done for HIM in return for his service.
