R.I.P.

Feeling: Emotionally fragile
Listening to: The Eurythmics & Alicia Keys

I have a friend who'd been battling cancer of the stomach, which then spread to the lymph nodes, with the resulting radiation treatments damaging her kidneys. Once the kidneys were damaged, the writing was pretty much on the wall. I received a phone call at work on Tuesday alerting me that she was in an induced coma, receiving morphine drip and it was only a matter of time. She passed this morning and I'm glad the Lord has removed her from her ravaged body. May she be at peace and rest.

Sometimes, we fought like cats and I would make her nuts. You could count on us seeing everything in opposite ends and agreeing on nothing! LOL She would tell me, "Someday I'm going to kick your ass!" and I'd laugh. Another favorite line was "Kiss my ass!" to which I'd quip, "Wait! Let me get my sunglasses. You're so damn white, when you pull your pants down, you'll blind me!" She'd turn beet red and become angrier and I would...simply laugh.

Through all the disagreements. Through all the yelling. All the shout backs of "You're arrogant!", "You make me nuts!", "Damn you!" there was mutual respect, admiration and a bond that couldn't be broken through our 21 years of friendship. Yea, we fought like cats sometimes, but we'd end each interaction with a smile and laugh. We never stayed mad and all the curses were said in love. I knew it. She knew it. I'll miss her funky, sarcastic, glaringly white ass! LOL

Aw hugs to you.

I'm sure she's in a better place now, somewhere where there's no pain.

~sigh~
