Photo Recovery Software

The software finally arrived today and I've been working with it. It seems to terminate after 20 or 30 minutes without completely scanning the 512 meg CF card. Obviously, this is disconcerting and I'm now stressing big time about whether recovery of my 247 photos will be possible. I feel terrible and have a dull ache in the pit of my stomach.

To my photo bloggers, please, save/transfer your images often and frequently. Don't wait as I did until the card is full to do the transfer and back up. It's foolish and possibly, unrecoverable. I haven't given up hope .... as I type this I've restarted the program again, for the third time. Learn from my mistakes and don't count on luck to see you through. I wouldn't want you to experience my discomfort.

It's raining again. It started during the evening rush hour and rained quite heavily. I know we need it, but it makes it more difficult to navigate the roads. I took some photos, but at the rate I'm going, they won't see light of day for a few days. I'm going to focus on the recovery process.
